Watching from the begining to the end of this movie, I had goose bumps so bad. I concentrated watching this very much. As this is a Documentsry movie, I could feel all casts' feeling. Dancers are very nervous and try thier best. Directors judge very seriously to the exam.
At one scean, a young dancer was acting. Although it was only a part of audition, he acted such as perfectly and made all the judges to cry. I even cried. I did not know very much about acting but I can tell that he is a very good actor!

At this broadway audition, one Japanese girl won a place in the examination. I think it is amazing since most of Japanese girls are so small, tiny, and not good at English pronunciation which are usually disadvantages to oversea audition.

This movie shows the way of audition and how difficult its Broadway is. Also it clearly describes whats the defferences between lead dancer and chorus dancers are. Watching it, you will see very large numbers of dancers from all over the world dream about to be in Broadway musical.
I love this movie since when I was very little. It is not only about dancing and singing parts but also acting. Even you are not interesting in these very much, I really would like you to watch A Chorus Live once.

Gene Kelly is just amazing! Whenever I see him dancing, he give me a lot of power and happiness about dancing.
I want to be like him, make people happy.

This is the Documentary movie before the movie, Lumiere, is on the show. Béjart made "Lights" as a theme of this movie. I felt Lumiere has something that human being based on.

If you are not interested in ballet very much, this movie might be boring to you. But if there is someone who likes any kind of danceing, I hope he/she would watch this movie. Ballet is based on every kind of dancing,Jazz, Contemporary, Be-Bop, and it is the oldest kind of dancing.
As like studying, we have better to learn basic first.
It is hard to tell with words but I hope you would watch this movie and feel something just like I did!

Billy Elliot

I think everyone who likes dancing especially jazz dance and ballet knows about this move. In Japan, it is released as "a little dancer."

To summarize this movie, it set against the background of the 1984 Miner's Strike. Billy Elliot, Jamie Bell, is an 11 years old boy who doesn't like the Boxing lessons. Instead, he falls for the girls' ballet lessons. But his father did not want him to take ballet lessons. Being supported by the ballet teacher,Mrs. Wilkinson, Billy keeps on training secretly. Finally, Mrs. Wilkinson manages to get Billy an audition for the Toyal Ballet School.

I like this movie because it is interesting drama but it also has some funny parts. I also really like its story. The way he meets ballet is simmilar to me, the way I met jazz dance. I can understand how he loves ballet.

However, this movie thought me that inside every one of us is a special talent waiting to come out. and it is wonderful.

I have already seen this movie when I was young. I even now like this movie so I watched again.

In this movie, a dancer, India, teaches movement to kids and wins the dance contest every Saturday night at a disco in Brooklyn. But she is mute since she was born and that is the reason she loses her part in the final round of the Broadway show audition. But a young scientist, Isaac, ivents a way for her to express herself in the way she wants.

Thit movie shows a hard part of dance audition. I think some people do not really like this movie because its story is kind of dark. But I do like it. I think there is some massages from this movie. Watching this movie, I also thought that there must be something that one was talented for.

Yes, I read this book, The Wizard of Oz, as a reading book assiment of English class, and I enjoyed reading. So why I don't watch this movie when I find??:/

It is very old musical. I usually do not like this kink of movie because old musical has too much singing parts, not dancing. This movie was also like that but I found a few good dancing parts in it. I like the part when little girls are dancing ballet in Emerald City. Those girls are very cute.

The story of the movie was alomst same as the book I read but some of are different. I enjoyed the defferences very much. I think if its story was all same as book, it must be very boring.

First, I will tell you about the plot of this movie. In order to achieve thir dream of opening a recording studio, two friends (Omarion, houston) must first win their city's dance contest - a fierce competition that pits them against a group of tough street dancers.

To be honest, I do not really like the story of this movie. But I love all the dancers in this movie. This movie has high quality of hiphop boom after 2000.

If you are interested in urban music and its culture or hiphop dancing, I totaly recommend you to watch this movie!!

All That Jazz

This is the very very famous movie with derector, Bob Fosse.

Although Bob Fosse was too short for a dancer, he had perfected his technique as a performer, choreographer, and director while serving his tour of duty.


This dancing style, 'Fosse style', had chaged broadway and it is still in the light as a kind of jazz dance of the first rank.

I do not do tap dancing but I am very interested in it.
I have never seen this movie before but I can tell you that this is a cool one.


Tap dancing has longer history than street dancing.
Tap dancing is now not really popular such as hip hop dancing but tap dancing is still growing.
As I told you that I can not tap unfortunately, and I do not know about tap dancing very well but I can see the dancers in this movie are reeeeeeeally good dancers.

I like this movie, not only because of the cast dancers quality but also the massage in this movie. I think this movie tells us that "the importance to be true to own" and "dream comes true". Even though you are very very old, you can still dream about something. Anyway, at the beggining of this movie, Max (the main character) have taken some mistakes in the past but throwing this movie, we can see the changing on him.

Because of the dancing and the massage (also the story), I reccomend you to watch this movie!

In this movie, the message is "True to yourself." Sara is a girl who has been learning ballet since when she was a little. She worked really hard and she accepted by Juillard School and she is trying to be a prima ballerina there. Also she loves hip-hop music and its dance. She has a gift for both hip-hop dancing and ballet but they are very different. She needed to decide what she really want to be...
Biggest difference between ballet and hip-hop is the posture. Ballet it more about flying and flowing.
According to this movie,　hip-hop is soul, rap, R&B, and funk. For mose people today, hip-hop is about bling-bling. But before the bling-bling, such as the escalades, money, or alcholes, it is a form of cross-cultural communication, lifestyle, a language, and a fashion. Hip-hop is about a individual questioning the establishment, recombining, combining everything that came before, and about finding a new voice. But what hip-hop really is can be summed up in three words, "I am here."
Most of the hip-hop dancers don't even realize that there is a history behind every move. I want more people to know thier history and even I want to know more about them.

The Purpose of My Blog

The purpose of my blog to introduce and re view dancing movies and videos. There are many kind of dancing nowadays such as hip hop, lock, house, break, jazz, be-bop, and etc. Many people especially young people are interested in dancing these days but not many people know about dancing well or some of them say they are not even interested in dancing. But I say everyone likes to listen to music. And music is related to dancing. I want more people to know about dancing.
